We wanted the most precise, reliable and consistent equipment available for our dyno facility, that's why we chose the DTS system. After much research, and visiting many other shops, the choice was easy. The DTS dyno is the most accurate, easy to operate and repeatable equipment on the market today. It's ease of use and adaptability saves the customer time and money when it comes to dyno tuning. |

Precise control of the water equates to precise control of the load applied to the engine. DTS designed an exclusive stainless steel spool type valve that is extremely precise in the flow control. To further enhance the precise control DTS uses it's exclusive valve on both the inlet water and outlet water of the absorption unit. Most other waterbrake systems control only the inlet water or the outlet water but not both. The dual valve control also allows the waterbrake to respond quickly to abrupt load changes such as a Nitrous Oxide "hit" and it increases the overall system torque absorbing capacity. |

Most testing is done in an automatic sweep mode where the operator sets a starting and ending rpm range. The dyno automatically controls the engine's load to accelerate it through the set rpm range. DTS designed the load control system as a proportional band type system. Which allows the engine to do what it wants too naturally. An internal combustion engine is not linear in its power output through a sweep range. DTS does not hold the engine to a precise rate of acceleration, so if the engine wants to accelerate faster or slower at given points through the sweep range the DTS system allows it to do so without loosing control of the engine. This is extremely valuable in evaluating the data because you have information that engine did rather than information the dynamometer allowed the engine to do. |

Our DTS dyno features an engine docking cart that make it easy to adapt to a variety of engines. We have two carts so one engine can be fitted while there is another on the dyno, saving time switching between engines or in the event of engine problems. Another great feature is the integrated starter so a bellhousing, flywheel or engine starter is not required. Engine connection is through a special compliant driveshaft that absorbs the torsional vibrations of the engine. This allows for direct coupling to the crankshaft. The engine docking cart / driveshaft design also allows for excellent clearance for headers and exhaust, so we can generally fit most customers exhaust systems if needed. |
|
|
The universal flywheel adapter and adapter mounts make it simple to connect engines of all makes. This kind of adaptability is just what we needed for the variety of customers we cater too. For more details on the engines we have adapters for, click on the fitment link. We can also build adapters to fit specialty applications, give us a call. |
| The dashboard style control screen makes it easy to read and understand the various functions being monitored during a session, and can be configured to the specific engine. The data acquisition system has 32 input channels that can be monitored and multiple equation channels that can be set up. Some of the common monitored channels are torque, oil pressure, water temp, oil temp, exhaust temp, air/fuel ratio, fuel pressure, boost and vacuum. Equation channels include horsepower, both corrected and uncorrected, fuel consumption, correction factor, plus other channels that can be set up as desired. |
|
| Up to four operator selected data inputs from any of the monitored channels can be plotted on each graph page and up to three different runs or three different engines can be plotted against each other for evaluation. Plotting multiple runs on the same screen makes it easy to see how the engine responds to tuning changes. |
|
| On the numeric pages, nine channels can be listed with the peaks highlighted to easily see what the engine was doing throughout the run. This screen can also be configured with the inputs specific to the particular engine. These values can be averaged within any RPM range selected. Both the data screens and the graph screens can be printed for ease of reference also. |

Our dyno room is also equipped with
programmable MSD Digital 7 ignition system. Engines can be tuned by
computer from the control room,
eliminating the need to make physical adjustments on the engine.
With your MSD distributor or trigger mated with our Digital 7 we can:
