| The finishing touches were made to our '84 Monte Carlo SS just days before it's debut in the Rod & Custom Car Show, held annually since 1970 in Monticello, IA. The show gathers some of the best street, custom and competition vehicles from the area for it's popular event. The stock appearing street sleeper features a 370 HP 355 small block engine mated to a T-5 five speed manual transmission. The second owner street driver is also equipped with a 3.73 posi rear end and functional cowl induction hood. | |||||||

| 2007 AMSOIL/Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge | |||||||

| Siegwarth Motorsports teams up with Schurbon Engine & Machine for this years challenge. Mopar Muscle Magazine pits shops from across the country against each other in it's annual engine build-off. This year they chose a small block for the competition, limited to 410 cubic inches, shelf production parts, and it had to run on 93 octane pump gas. The real challenge - who could make the most power for the fewest dollars! | |||||||
Scott Schurbon, a die hard Mopar fanatic, worked up a potent but economical beast as a good contender for the horsepower/dollar format. He figured up a suitable bottom end displacing the maximum 410 cubic inch limit, added a custom ground flat tappet cam from Comp, and stock replacement Magnum iron heads. He turned the heads over to Bob Siegwarth for a full port & polish job. Scott then finished the assembly, covered it with vintage Mopar plum crazy purple paint, and it was off to Siegwarths for the final test & tune. Bob thrashed it on the shop's dyno to 508 horespower, and 503 ft/lb of torque using 91 octane pump gas. |
| Bob, Scott and his wife Joan, along with all the others in the competition met at Comp Cams dyno facility in Memphis, TN for the final showdown. For more pics and results from the engine challenge, check out coverage at Mopar Muscle Magazine. | |||||||
